Christmas Market Bali 2018
Which are the Christmas markets in Bali in 2018? I just moved to Bali, Indonesia with my partner and it is amazing to be in a warm place, surrounded by palm trees and all those rice fields. December is knocking on our door though and among trying to find a place to stay for longer term rental, we are thinking about what to do for Christmas in Bali.
Bali at Christmas time
I’m imagining coconuts decorated with lights and tinsel, pineapples with a Christmas decoration on top and cocktails on the beach while enjoying a barbecue. I have no idea if it’s going to be like that because I have never spent Christmas in a warm country, but I do hope so! What is more, I have never spent Christmas outside my home. So it will be the first time for me spending Christmas in Bali. We really want to spend it cozy, probably going to get Sunday roast at one of the restaurants in Canggu, and also prepare at home some Christmas cookies. In Pepito and Canggu Station you can buy Christmas crackers, cheese and various types of chocolates and in malls or markets you can buy Christmas decorations. In Denpasar you can find artificial Christmas trees ( about 350.000 IDR for a 120 cm one and 650.000 IDR for a 1.60 cm one). However, I will keep you updated and also update this post with the Christmas decorations in Bali.
Christmas Markets in Bali 2018
So I was wondering the other day while biking around Canggu if there is anything going on for Christmas in Bali. And I saw some posters around and then I started asking local Indonesian people about the Christmas Markets. So I managed to find out for you which are the Christmas markets in Bali in 2018:
- Twilight Christmas Market, 30th November
If you are looking for a good Christmas market in Bali in 2018, this is one of the best markets, so I’ve heard. Even though it’s organised by a school, it sounds very promising and it might bring a little bit of that traditional Christmas market vibe to the island. If marshmallows, music and games sounds good to you, you’re welcome.

- Gypsy Market, 2nd December
The second Christmas market in Bali is the Gypsy market, in Canggu, with lots of vendors, and stuff from clothing to food, organic products and beverages, activities for kids, and a fun afternoon to spend in a beautiful location with lights and live music. Can’t wait !

These are main two Christmas markets in Bali in 2018, but I will update this post with any other ones that I discover. Stay tuned on my blog and vlog.
- Xmas Bazaar, 8th December, 22nd December
Another Christmas market in Bali is the Xmas Bazaar. Live music, food stalls, accesories and a bazaar like atmosphere await for you at the Xmas Bazaar which takes place at Love Anchor Canggu.

- Weekly Parachute Farmers Market, 1st – 29th December
If you’re looking for a Christmas market in Bali, this is a beautiful place where you can easily spend a couple of hours just sipping your coffee and enjoying the views to the rice fields. But the farmers market is a small cozy event where you can find mostly homemade baked stuff and accessories. It’s a great place to spend Sunday brunches as well if you’re with a group of friends or family. There will be a lot of kids activities as well.

- Bazaar at Old Man’s Canggu, 29th December
Old Man’s is the place to be especially for their happy hour from 5 to 6 PM but it’s opening up for what’s going to be one of the biggest Christmas markets.
