Bucharest has a great nightlife, food scene and an old charm of the Little Paris. There are lots of museums, exhibitions and events going on each week. But being in Bucharest for a while, it can get grey, crowdy and noisy. So if you live in Bucharest or if you want to visit and are planning for a weekend getaway, here is a list of places right outside of the city to spend some chilled time.

Mogosoaia Palace is just 10 km away from Bucharest. It is a beautiful palace, over 300 years old, built in the Romanian Renaissance style, Brancovenesc. It has a large outdoor area, with lovely gardens and a lake, where you can enjoy a picnic. It is perfect for a day outside of Bucharest.

Bythelake, A Promising Destination

One of the newest places outside of Bucharest that is about to launch soon is Bythelake. It is meant to be an oasis, just a drive away from the bustling city life. It showcases an outdoor jacuzzi, swings outside and a beautiful accomodation. I honestly saw this place recently on Instagram and I am dying to go check it out. Since it’s not yet open to the public, I will update this post when I have all the details, including location and prices. However, for a weekend away from Bucharest, this looks pretty promising.

Edenland Park – Stay In A Treehouse

Staying in a treehouse is one of my bucketlist things to do. I actually never thought it is so close to my hometown, Bucharest. But if you are up for some adventure, not far from Bucharest is Edenland Park, where you can go climbing, ziplining, and more.

Another side of Edenland Park is that you can book an overnight stay in one of their treehouses. How amazing is that?
