On the lookout for Romantic destinations in Europe? I’ve got you covered.
This January we traveled to Prague for three days, for what turned out to be a romantic getaway. I knew nothing about Prague, except for the fact that it has a beautiful Christmas Market and that it’s a perfect destination for couples.
We arrived on the 4th January, and the city was bustling with life. One of the most picturesque cities in Europe, with great views, Gothic churches and the oldest Astronomical clock still working, Prague is fascinating.
We woke up early to explore the city and take some photos, and we loved strolling along the riverside. And talking about romantic destinations in Europe, I think Prague really has it all!
We also went on a romantic river cruise through the beautiful canals and it seemed like we were transported to another Venice. Kampa Island is an amazing spot and you could have a dinner in two overlooking the canal but you have to reserve beforehand. We partnered with Active Czech to have a cruise of two hour on the Vltava River and it was definitely a right choice. However, if we had more days there, we would try the gondola river cruise or the jazz boat with dinner included!
Another famous romantic spot is Charles Bridge. It’s close to the Powder Tower and it’s perfect for a sunset walk.
As in Paris, visitors have left proof of their love on the locks. If I hadn’t considered till now that Prague can be compared to Paris or other European love cities, I have definitely changed my perspective. Romantic destinations in Europe are sought after during all seasons, so knowing where to go if you want to impress your loved one is very important. That’s why I decided to write about it 🙂 Also, I find it very romantic in winter time, when we were there, because it might be more quiet, you can get hot chocolate in a cozy cafe, and maybe even get some snowy photos up at the castle, but in summer I think it’s very vibrant and full of life.
The views from the Vltava River are amazing,I recommend you check them out if you’re planning to have Prague as one of your 2018 destinations.
