Today I want to share with you photos from my travel to Birmingham.
I visited last year and it was very rainy and cold, but I managed to make the most out of it!
First off, I want to tell you a little bit about the city. Only one hour and about 20 minutes from London, Birmingham is more of a student city, and though a bit quiet during the day, I found it to be bustling with life at night.
I was surprised to see so many canals, and guess what! I found out Birmingham actually has more canals than Venice. They used to help transport goods and now lots of people live on boats on these canals. Quite romantic, huh?
Also, as my interest is fashion, I discovered that the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter produces 40% of all jewellery produced in the UK. It is also has the highest concentration of jewelry businesses in Europe! That is amazing!!
I spent two days there, during the day I strolled in the city, took photos, drank hot chocolate, enjoyed the views from the Gas Street Basin, and the St.Martin Cathedral. Among the things to visit in Birmingham there are The Botanical Gardens, the University of Birmingham, the Bullring, the Sea Life center and many others. So turns out it’s a great place for a city break. Sipping lattes while having amazing views over the city seems to be quite a good option. Also, I did a kind of pub crawling with my friends one night and went from bar to bar, and the atmosphere was incredible! P.s: all my photos from our pub crawling cannot be shown publicly haha 😂
If you like it, let me know! If you’ve been there, tell me about your experience!
